![]() It makes me better, more conscious and more engaged in my craft. I thoroughly enjoy being apart of the online sewing community. Those shirts are from Top Shop and in my move away from fast fashion, to a slow fashion, handmade, wardrobe it makes sense to find patterns that are proven wardrobe essentials. It actually occurred to me that a couple of my favorite, most-worn blouses are almost identical to this pattern. And that’s a great place to be, towing the line between dressy and casual, never too over or under dressed. With its three-quarter length sleeves and ruffle detail, this shirt tows the line between dressy and casual. Furthermore, the ruffle sleeve top is the perfect fall weather blouse. Then I remembered all those seams and pattern pieces in the Collins top and my decision was made. I went back and forth over whether I wanted to make this or another Collins top. I contemplated making this shirt for a few months. This time I’ve made the Peppermint Ruffle Sleeve Top from issue 37. Here I am, with another In The Folds pattern review! I hate to be a bore and keep posting makes from the same pattern maker, but the In The Folds/Peppermint Magazine collaboration is so good (and free!). If you’re an expat, or just love good design and handy, digital resources, I highly recommend giving Paperless Post a try. This is the way we communicate today, but I’m still a sucker for the more formal invitations. I can see these being very useful for your Whatsapp (or Kakao, if you’re in Korea) group texts. Also, they have a smart, new (new to me, at least) feature for more informal, digital flyers for casual get-togethers. Paperless Post always has designer collaborations, and I was happy to see that they have designs by Marimekko, Liberty, Confetti System, Kelly Wearstler and many more. I know normal folks actually plan the party then look for the invitation to match, but who says you can’t do it the other way around? I’m imagining a small get-to-together with warm drinks by candlelight and a moody playlist. It is fall…and I’m starting to feel really, really hyggelig. I currently have zero parties planned, but browsing through the offerings on Paperless Post got me inspired to throw a shindig of some sort. I’ve always loved the way that Paperless Post has beautiful digital envelopes to match your card or invitation. It’s also great for digital invitations that still feel formal, official and tactile. Then, you have to actually remember the birthday or holiday in question well in advance, so that your beloved can receive the card in time. It’s a romantic idea, and I love sending and receiving nice cards, but it gets expensive. Then of course, there is the price of postage when you want to mail cards to your family and friends. So, I’ve largely had to give up the printed life. You have to make a lot of tough decisions about what stays and what goes. Hauling a bunch of precious paper goods from one country to the next doesn’t work so well. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know we’re now living in Korea (country #3). However, this doesn’t really jive with the life of an expat. ![]() I have a long history of being a hoarder of stationery, greeting cards, and printed matter of all of sorts. So this was a great opportunity to get reacquainted with this wonderful resource. Unfortunately, Paperless Post fell off the radar for me over the past few years. Mood board featuring the Welcoming Autumn invitation I don’t know what their printed services are like today, but we were very pleased with our wedding invitations and it is still one of my favorite souvenirs from the day. Yes, in addition to their unique digital services, Paperless Post offers beautiful printed material too. I’ve used it for birthday cards, holiday cards, party invitations, and we even ordered your lovely wedding invitations from Paperless Post way back in 2013. I have actually been a fan of Paperless Post for many, many years. When I was recently contacted about doing a review of Paperless Post, the foremost online resource for sleek and elegant digital invitations and greeting cards, responding with a quick “yes” was a no-brainer.
